The female has a pale yellowish-beige ground colour with variable markings, where as the males are dark brown with iridescent hairs. Body length Females 5-6mm, males 4mm.

It feeds on small insects.

Seen early to mid-summer. Found in woodland, thickets and hedgerows. Also enters houses and found on walls and ceilings. Common and widespread throughout.
